Blog 2: Super Bowl Ads

My favorite ad from all the SuperBowl 2015 Commercials was McDonalds Pay With Lovin’ ad. For the last decade, McDonalds has been receiving a lot of backlash for there unhealthy and processed foods. Based on this backlash, McDonalds has been producing much “behind the scene” footage about the creation of their food items. So, when McDonald aired their Pay With Lovin ad this year during the Superbowl, it was quite a twist from their recent trend. There is no doubt that McDonalds is still one of the top fast food joint despite of the recent health uprising. The whole scenario of people paying with love was a clever way for McDonalds to go back to its original roots. It showed that McDonalds a place that shares love and it portrayed a nice heartwarming story. They established a mutual gift from the company to their customers. McDonalds’ use of customers not only gave their consumers a gift but also lure them to go to McDonalds more during a certain amount of time in which they can possibility receive a gift of “love.” This ad was very heartwarming and allowed the views to interact with its company. The Superbowl is advertising heaven. There is almost an equal amount of people watching the Superbowl for the ads and watching the Superbowl for football. But even people who watch the Superbowl for football still look forward to the ads. The Superbowl allows companies to start anew with their products. This is the only time of the year when people enjoy and want to watch ads, so companies take advantage of this time and show their latest products and campaigns.

Blog Post 1: Favorite Ad Agency

As a child, I grew up watching a lot of Saturday morning cartoons and television series with my family so I always got to see many different ads. When I think back about the most memorable ads, I remember local ads more than nation-wide ads. Although, I enjoyed ads to some extent, I did not really pay attention to what ad agency created what. So when I searched up the top ad agencies in the United States, I realized that some of these agencies designed some of my favorite ads. Out of a list of ad agencies, I settled with one, Deutsch. Deutsch was created in 1969 and later became famous in 1989. Deutsch is an amazing advertisement agency because they have a diverse approach towards there audience. From the Target commercials that catches the eyes of music-lovers to Star Wars maniacs in the Volkswagen ad. Deutsch’s ability to connect their audience into their advertisements is very well done.

Out of all their commercials, one that stands out is the Epi-do-over ad for the Epiduo product. I remember watching a movie online and this ad play over again and again. But, I do not remember this ad because it was constantly on repeat, instead I remember it because it was designed to relate to me in every way. It reminded me of my teenage years dealing with acne and going through every method possible just to get rid of my acne. The use of “real experience” made the ad very affective and I surely enjoyed watching the ad just to see teenagers go through the same thing I went through. Deutsch is a creative ad agency that makes their demographic connect to their core values.
